Sikx's Sea Level Guide
How to create an own ship

To build an own ship, you have to go to the owner of the dockyard. You can find on the mini map - it's the guy with the little ship symbol.

As soon as you have reached him, you should talk to him!

If you do not own any ship parts yet, you will first have to buy the right parts for your ship.
Depending on your Sea-Level, there are parts you definetly need to sail with your ship and parts you can buy, but which are not absolutely neccessary.

The shopping:

First you should decide, which ship you want to build, as you will only be able to build two ships at the beginning.

You can choose between the following 5 classes:
  • Torpedo Ship
  • Assault Ship
  • Maintanace Ship
  • Big Gun Ship
  • Amor Ship
The parts for each class cannot be combined! Thus if you buy a frame for a Torpedo Ship, you will only be able to combine it with other Torpedo Ship-parts.

You can also only equip your ship with parts fitting to your current Sea-Level.

Depending on your Sea Level, you will absolutely need the following parts:

Sea-Lvl 1-14 (small ship):

Frame / Body
Main mast

! Attention! You have to mind the way you would like to sail!
  • Sea is dominated by the influence of the winds, so you will sometimes have tailwind and sometimes headwind
  • Depending on the sails you got on your mast, you will be faster with the one and slower with the other wind
Sea-LvL 15 - 41 (middle sized ship):

Frame / Body - provides DP (Healthpoints)
Bow - provides DP
Foremast - enables to sail faster
Main mast - enables to sail

!Attention! When you change from small to middle ship, you have to mind that you cannot install the parts for the small ship on your middle ship!

These ships parts can, but do not have to be equipped:
  • Figurehead - increases the protection of your ship and the balance
  • Magic stone - provides the EN for skills and special attacks
  • Anchor - increases the manoeuvrability, the slowdown and the balance of your ship
  • Ship flag - is just a nice decoration
  • Cannons - are needed to fire on enemies
  • Special weapon - enables to do the special attack of your ship's class
Moreover, the owner of the dockyard on every island sells ship bullets, which can also be bought at the  master of the harbour until level 20 and at the smithy until level 45.

Now that you got your parts for your ship, you can start building.

Click on "Docks" now to enter them.

Now you can see your dock which is kind of empty at the moment.

  • On the right part you got your inventory only showing your ship parts.
  • Select your frame there and double-click on it.
  • You will be asked whether you want to register this Frame now, which you will of course affirm.
  • After that you can click on the other ship parts you bought to equip your new ship with them.
Now you have to click on the button "Tuning" in the lower part of the screen so that the building-process will be completed. If you end before clicking this button, the equipped ship-parts will not be installed on the registered frame.

General information to what you can see in your dock:

  1. Here you can see your general character information
  2. Here you can see how many DP (your ship's healthpoints) and EN (your ship's MP) you have
  3. Here you can see the damage your normal cannons do, which critical rate you have, the range of your shots and how long it takes to reload the cannons
  4. Here you can see the performance of your ship while sailing.
  5. Information about the front- and side-cannons
    • Explanation: The first cipher shows the amount of cannons you can use at the front, the second one shows the amount of cannons you can fire to the sides.
    • The ship on the picture can use two front- and 5 side-cannons
  6. This is your slot-bar, where you can register your ship's frame, the currently selected ship will then be displayed below in the water
  7. The menu of the slot-bar
    • Destroy: deletes the ship in its present condition completely and irrecoverably.
    • Dismantle: removes all parts except for your frame and puts them back into your inventory
    • The frame itself cannot be removed and has to be deleted, if you want to use another or a bigger frame
    • Buy dock slot: not yet available
  8. Current data
  9. Here you can see the parts you can use at the moment
    • Attention: the neccessarily needed parts are "watermarked" with a small yellow star!
  10. Shows your inventory and the ship parts in it, you can even curtail the displayed items
    • Attention: mind that you will need free spaces in your inventory, if you want to dismantle your ship! Otherwise the parts will be deleted!
  11. Here you can see how much Gelt you currently own and how expensive the tuning of your ship will be
Now your ship is ready, but you still need to think of some smaller details, before you can set sails:
  1. Go to the harbour
  2. Buy crew management for your crew
  3. Open your inventory and equip the cannon balls and the food for the crew
    • Information: one slot of your inventory can obtain up to 5,000 cannon balls
  4. Talk to the master of the harbour and click on "Port"
  5. Now you can decide whether you want to hire a better crew than the one you already own! The better your crew is, the longer they can survive with the bought food
  6. Click on "Sail"
Have fun on the ocean!
This guide is about teaching you everything that is important for you to level on Sea.

Before we start, we should do some preparations.
  • First of all you have to build a ship, this is explained in the “How to build a ship” guide in detail
  • After having done this big step, equip the cannon balls and your food for the crew over the inventory
  • The food is very important, because without it your crew would starve!
The food itself is separated into the classes A to F. The lower the letter in the alphabet is, the better it is and your crew will be able to sail longer.
Example: A = 1 ; B+ = 2 ; ...

There is still something you should think of!
The better the chosen crew is, the better the food has to be.
A good crew of course takes the bad food, but this food will just keep up their present situation and not improve it. (I will come back to the situations later)

As soon as you have equipped the food, it will automatically be consumed by the crew on the sea, so you do not have to give them new food all the time. If you travel on shore, they will not consume any food.

Now let’s start with the main part:

After having talked tot he Harbour Manager and clicked on the button, you will be directed to your ship. There you can choose the ship you want to travel with in the slot bar on top.
Now click on the button “Sail”. If you haven’t hired a crew yet, you will automatically get the weakest crew.

Now you are at least at sea:

But what exactly do you see there?

Here comes the explanation:
  1. Is your own ship
  2. Are your fellows and enemieser
  3. This symbol shows you that you are anchoring, that is you do not move at the moment
  4. Is the next island
  5. Shows the level, the name, the HP and the avatar oft he fellow you have clicked on
  6. Shows the mini card you already know from leveliing on shore
  7. Shows your menu
  8. Shows your current sailing-information (I’ll come to that later with Point 8.1)
  9. This is the skill bar for Sea Skills
  10. The Sea EXP bar! Here you will see quickly how many % you still need for the next level
  11. The chat window
  12. The Help! Click on it, when you forgot some key combinations for sailing. There you will find everything eyplained again
  13. Your own character window where you can see your HP (DP) and MP (EN)
Let’s talk about the little window 8.1 now

The 1 in this picture shows your crew’s condition. Your crew can be met in 5 of them:
  • Very good     - if you use the right food for your crew, it will have this status
  • Good      - you are using food that is a bit too bad for your crew
  • Normal
  • Bad         - from now on you should hurry to get new food
  • Not reclaimable!  -   Now even food cannot help any more. You have to hire a completely new crew.
!Attention! With a decrease of your crew’s conditions the speed of your ship decreases, too.

  • Now let’s talk about number 2. This is the speed control! I’ll explain how to use it in the next chapter.
  • Number 3 is your ship in bird’s eye view where you can see the direction the wind is coming from.
  • Number 4 shows you where the wind is blowing from at the moment.
  • Number 5 shows the abbreviations of the compass.
    • E= East
    • N= North
    • W= West
    • S= South
  • Number 6 shows the area of your tailwind (green). In this area you can sail faster.
  • On the other hand, you will be slower in the area of number 7, the headwind (red).
  • With number 8 you can choose between manual and automatical speedup.
  • And last but not least you can click on number 9 to slow down your ship until you anchor.
Now that you got a first overview it is time to move!

There are two possibilities how to move the ship:
  • With the keys W, A, S, D, Q, space bar, R and the mouse or
  • With the arrow keys and the mouse

Now that we can move, let’s get to know something about attacking other ships.

First you have to know two things:
  1. How do I get into the fighting mode?
  2. How can I fire my cannonballs?
1. Press the space bar or use R to get tot he fighting mode. After pressing, you can use the normal weapons. In this mode you can fire your cannonballs!

But mind the blind areas of your ship! You can only attack enemies that are in the dark blue areas around your ship.

These areas can be seen on this picture.

In addition tot hat you can also use special weapons. To use them, click the space bar another time. Using the special weapons will consume your EN.

As long as you are using the fighing mode, you can switch between the normal and the special weapon by clicking the space bar.

Press R to leave the fighting mode.

Tip: As long as you have a skill on standby in the sea-mode, you cannot use potions. Having used the skill you can again use your potions.

Now you know how to fight. But what do you know about the strengths and weaknesses of your ship?

As already mentioned there are 5 kinds of ships.

These are the details:

Amored Ship
  • It is the tank among the ships
  • Special weapons: harpoons on the sides
  • Fire the harpoons when the enemy is near to achieve the highest damage
  • Not recommended for beginners
  • The special attack has the shortest re-use time of all
Torpedo Ship
  • Good in fast attacks and can shoot in short intervals
  • Torpedos have a high grasp, but can only be fired to the front
  • Not so many DP
  • Mostly EN potions are not needed
  • Recommended for beginners
  • Torpedos cannot be fired if there's a rock or a rift in the shooting area
Maintenace Ship
  • It is the supporter among the ships
  • Has an average amount of DP
  • Hood grasp of the normal cannons
  • Special weapon: mines to defend party members (3 mines per attack)
  • Needs many EN potions
  • For people with some experience
  • Dead angles can be avoided in special weapon mode
  • Monsters recognize the mines and try to ship around them
The Assault Ship
  • The close combat ship
  • Uses a speed up impulse to attack the enemy
  • Guarantees faster travelling
  • For people with some experience
  • Special weapon only at the front
  • Average amount of DP
  • Made for a combination between special weapons and cannons
  • Enemies can calculate the route of the turbo in advance, so the perfect timing is decisive
  • The farther the enemy, the less the damage of the special weapon
Big Gun Ship
  • Long-range combat ship with maximal damage potential
  • Special weapon only at the front, but the attack has a high grasp.
  • Has the lowest amount of DP, so it will need a lot of potions in combat
  • Only for players who can aim very well
  • Quite slow
Let’s talk about the skills now.

You can choose between several skills. Some are for your defense and some are skills to attack.

You should know that you can contract your skillpoints once! The chosen skills will then apply for all the ships you will have! So think twice before you decide.

Now let’s talk about the types of opponents you will find. There are 3 kinds of enemies:

Close combat enemies:

These monsters will attack you, if you come to close or attack them yourself. They are good for quick leveling, fort hey cannot attack you until they reached your ship.

Long-distance combat enemies:

These opponents are the most common ones. They can only fire normal cannon balls and some are similar to the ship types I mentioned. It is important to hit them at the right place to cause the maximal damage.

Long-distance combat fighter with steerable missiles:

You will get in contact with some of these now and then. Their weapons are: magic, horns, fireballs etc. and they will always hit you!
No matter what you try, it won’t work. The only opportunity you have is either using an Assult/Mainenance ship and leave their grasp, or you have to defeat them as fast as possible.

Now you know the monsters you will meet on sea!

Or maybe you don’t?

Something is still missing: the Sea Bosses

These monsters can also be separated into the 3 mentioned types, but you should note that they can call other monsters to help them.

Another thing you should know is that your ship can get damaged when you are under attack. You cannot heal this damage with potions! So if you don’t want to sink, you should sail to one of the Save Ships on the Ocean!

These ships won’t defend you or bring you to the next harbor, but they repair your ship, sell food for your crew and cannon balls. With their help you will surely reach the next harbor!

And that leads us to the question that occures in every old salt’s head once:

How can I return to the shore?

As soon as you have reached the harbor, your cursor will become a grey anchor. Click on the harbor and you’re back at your pier and back on shore.

Now you can relax a bit while your ship is waiting for your return. Perhaps you can even level for 100 days on the sea in a stretch.
